grade 8/9 band!
For the second playing test, you will be given a choice to play ONE of the three of the major scales in the Blue Book that we have been practicing in class, including arpeggios and chords:
Concert Bb (number 2), Concert Eb (number 6), or Concert F (number 12). These scales increase in difficulty, and it is expected that you choose the scale that is most appropriate for your skill level. **Percussion section: you have the choice to play either the mallet part written or the snare drum part written for your chosen scale in the Blue Book. In your video, you must: 1. Identify the piece you are playing 2. Play the piece. Please ensure that your instrument is visible in the video. After logging into SeeSaw, please click on "Activities", then "Add Response" to post your video. Rubric: Here is a recording of the version of Bohemian Rhapsody we will be playing. Listen to it to help yourself with challenging parts. Gr. 8/9 Playing Test #1 due November 1 For our first playing test, you will be playing a section from Bohemian Rhapsody. You may choose to use this website to record yourself, or perform this assessment in person. Please look for your instrument for the specific section you are assigned: Flute, clarinet, alto sax, tenor sax: measures 1-15 Trumpet: measures 11-20 Bari sax: measures 30-41 Euphonium, Tuba: measures 5-24 Drum Kit: measures 5-20 Mallets: measures 22-32 Timpani: measures 37-50 Bass Drum: measures 5-20 Other Percussion: measures 10-24 Electric Bass: measures 30-45 In your playing test/video you must: 1. Tell me the measures you'll be playing 2. Play the music On a scale of 1-4, you will be assessed on: 1. Pitches - have you performed all of the pitches accurately 2. Rhythms - have you performed all of the rhythms accurately 3.
