Grade 6 In-School Band Camp Day!
Hello Grade 6 Band Parents! As some of you may know, students in Grades 7-9 will be participating in a very exciting “Band Camp” at Camp Horizon this year. Band Camp is a wonderful opportunity for band students to spend time together while building skills in rehearsals and working with professional clinicians. Although Grade 6 students will not be able to participate in this event this year, it is something they can look forward to in future years! That being said, I am very excited to announce that we will be offering Grade 6 band students an opportunity to participate in their own version of an “in-school band camp” this January! The students in grade 6 band have been working incredibly hard, and they deserve a chance to work with a professional clinician in preparation for our January performance. The “Grade 6 In-School Band Camp” will be held at school on Friday, January 17, from 9:30 to 11:30, and is open to all students in the Grade 6 Band program. Students will be working in small, instrument specific groups with a professional instructor. This is an excellent opportunity for all of our students to refine the skills they have been building throughout the fall and to prepare for our upcoming performance. If your child is new to band this year, and they participated in our October Jump Start Band Clinic, this will be the “next step” in the development of their skills. The fee associated with this opportunity is $35 and will be posted to your CBE account. If your child cannot participate in this activity for any reason, please email me to let me know. Thank you again for all of your support in your child’s musical education!
